History Test
Cranberries have a rich and vibrant history.
Native American Indians were the first people to discover the fruit and recognise its versatility as a nutritious food, fabric dye and to treat wounds and alleviate pain.
When European settlers first arrived in America in 1620, the Native American Indians introduced them to this very special red berry, which the settlers named 'craneberry' because the plant's blossoms resembled the head of the crane when they waved in the wind.
The name was later shortened to 'cranberry' as we know it today.
