Heart health

Details into the numerous health benefits associated with cranberries are still emerging, however there are a number of areas of particular interest that are offering promising results.

Eating a heart healthy diet, full of antioxidants, is one important step you can take to reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. Recent studies have shown that cranberries contain a high amount of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that may protect against the development of heart disease.¹

Blood Pressure: Maintaining healthy blood pressure levels can help reduce the risk of a stroke. Sodium and potassium are two minerals related to blood pressure control - a high sodium diet (sodium is found in salt) may increase blood pressure while a high potassium diet may reduce blood pressure.

Cranberries are naturally low in sodium and also contain some potassium. Choosing foods like cranberries that contain more potassium than sodium as part of a low salt, heart healthy diet can help maintain healthy blood pressure levels.
